Updated recall: BLACK CAT Electric Pressure Washer
On 2010-08-04, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published an updated recall regarding BLACK CAT Electric Pressure Washer due to a potential fire & burn hazard. This product sold new beginning in March 2002 for about $145. It was originally recalled on 2004-11-15.

What is the problem?
The electric motor in the pressure washer can overheat and melt the housing, possibly igniting nearby flammable materials or exposing live electrical parts.
How can I tell if I own this product?
The recalled pressure washers have a black plastic housing and a BLACK CAT logo on both sides of the unit. "MCM International," "Model TW1800" or "Model BC2200" appear on a silver label on the recalled units.
Information on where these items sold new+: Target and Menard's stores sold the recalled pressure washers between March 2002 and September 2002 for about $145.

Consumers should stop using the recalled electric pressure washers immediately and contact Tricam to arrange for a refund or free replacement.
Call Tricam Industries at (800)867-6763 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
Incidents & Injuries Reported as of Recall Date
RMM and CPSC are aware of fewer than 20 incidents of pressure washers overheating, including one report of damage to a wooden deck. Many of these incidents occurred when the pressure washer was left running and unattended. No injuries have been reported.
