On 2011-07-07, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a recall regarding Chanel Silk Dresses, Skirts and Blouses due to a potential fire hazard. This product sold new beginning in March 2010 for about $430 to $3650.

This was the 4th recall of products in the Clothing (Adults) category in 2011. Since 2005, there have been approximately 10 similar recalls, involving about 400,000 product units.

What is the problem?

The garments fail to meet the federal flammability standard for wearing apparel, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

How can I tell if I own this product?

The dresses, skirts and blouses are made of 100 percent silk and come in a variety of designs. Nearly all items were returned to Chanel in May 2010.

Silk scarves were also recalled at the same time as these items.

These items were sold new+ at Chanel Boutiques, Neiman Marcus and Maxfield stores for $430 to $3,650 in March and April 2010

What should I do if I own this recalled product?

First, stop using the item.
