Recall: Inspired Organics Sunflower Butter
On 2018-12-11, the FDA announced that Inspired Organics is conducting a recall on Sunflower Butter due to possible contamination with listeria. The recalled products were sold under the brand name(s) Inspired Organics during an unspecified time period throughout the regions shown in the map below.
In recent months, there have been 45 food recalls due to potential contamination, including ready-to-eat pork and poultry sausage products, raw beef products and more. Additionally, there have been 47 food recalls due to other health hazards as well as 21 drug and medical device recalls.

Inspired Organics, LLC has issued a voluntary recall of Organic Sunflower Butter due to potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
