Recall: Oskri, Thrive Organic Sunflower Butter
On 2019-01-02, the FDA announced that Oskri Organics is conducting a recall on Organic Sunflower Butter due to possible contamination with listeria. The recalled products were sold under the brand name(s) Oskri and Thrive during an unspecified time period throughout the regions shown in the map below.
In recent months, there have been 50 food recalls due to potential contamination, including salad shake ups single-serve bowls, raw ground turkey products and more. Additionally, there have been 45 food recalls due to other health hazards as well as 22 drug and medical device recalls.

Oskri Organics Corporation of Lake Mills, WI is recalling Oskri Organic Sunflower Butter Lot # 099, Oskri Tahini Butter LOT # 193 and Thrive Sunflower Butter LOT # 233, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
