Revised Recall: Overarching Floor Lamp
On 2012-07-19, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a revised recall regarding Overarching Floor Lamp due to a potential shock hazard. This product sold new beginning in March 2011 for about $250. It was originally recalled on 2012-02-02.

What is the problem?
A short circuit can occur in the lamp's wiring, posing a shock hazard to consumers.
How can I tell if I own this product?
The Overarching Floor Lamp is 77 inches tall with a 19-inch diameter base and a curving arm that extends the lamp about 5 feet from the base. The arm and base are made of polished nickel. It was sold with a linen shade in the colors natural, white or charcoal. The lamp has a three-way on/off switch. Lamps with the following SKU numbers are being recalled: 4041158, 4041216, 4282125 and 4308169. SKU numbers of the recalled lamps appear only on the back of the packaging in the lower right-hand corner and not on the lamps. Lamps with SKU numbers located on the socket assembly are not being recalled.

These items were sold new+ at West Elm retail stores nationwide, West Elm catalogs and westelm.com from March 2011 through November 2011 for about $250.

Incidents & Injuries Reported as of Recall Date
The firm is aware of at least 39 reports of short circuits in the lamp, including three reports of shock, one report of a minor burn to a consumer's finger and two reports of minor property damage.
