Recall: Quesos de la Costa White Cheese
On 2017-05-12, the FDA announced that La Nica Products is conducting a recall on White Cheese due to possible contamination with listeria. The recalled products were sold under the brand name(s) Quesos de la Costa during an unspecified time period throughout the regions shown in the map below.
In recent months, there have been 73 food recalls due to potential contamination, including frozen multi-grain alaskan cod, poultry products and more. Additionally, there have been 60 food recalls due to other health hazards as well as 19 drug and medical device recalls.

La Nica Products, Inc. of Miami, FL is recalling six thousand pounds of cheese, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
