Information We Collect and How We Use It
WeMakeItSafer, Inc. collects certain information from and about its users in three ways: from our Web server logs, with cookies, and directly from the user.
Web server logs. When you visit our WeMakeItSafer website, we may collect information to administer the Website and analyze its usage with tools such as Google Analytics. Examples of information we may collect include: Internet protocol addresses, the type of browser or operating systems used to access the site, the number of links clicked and pages viewed, the geographical region from where the Website was accessed, the date and time the Website was accessed, internet service providers used, and the web pages linked to our Website from which users accessed the site.
This is used to save your preferences and, where applicable, your login information, and provide personalized functionality. You can
clear or block cookies by changing your browser settings, but be aware that this may disable some of the functionality on the website.
On our Website, Users may register for and/or purchase content, tools or services, including but not limited to product search, monitoring, alert services, personalized content, seals, certificates, reports, surveys, contests or promotional offerings, etc. When you register for or purchase such services, we may ask you for some personal information, such as your name and email address. We may also ask for information regarding the products you own in order to provide such services. In addition, if you choose to upload your purchase activity to your account or if you make purchases from us, we may also receive financial information.
You may be asked to disclose personal information to us so that we can provide assistance and information to you. For example, we may collect personal information from you (such as an email address, system information, and problem descriptions) in order to provide technical support and troubleshooting online or via telephone.

Demographic information, including but not limited to, gender, age, number of family members, and income level, as well as product ownership data, if provided, will only be used in an aggregated manner (combined across users) and will not be associated with your personally identifiable information except as requested by you, as required by law or to perform the functions needed to service your account.
In the event of a recall or other safety event, third party entities such as manufacturers or retailers or others may wish to provide additional information to product owners. We may use collected information to determine whether you own or might own the product in question, and you may receive information from WeMakeItSafer delivered on behalf of the third party. WeMakeItSafer will not disclose your personal information and item ownership information to the third party except as requested by you or as required by law.
As with most websites, certain third party service providers, such as website server hosting companies, may have limited access to collected information.
How We Protect Your Information
Security is extremely important to us. We take numerous precautions to protect the security of personally identifiable information. Because your personally identifiable information on our Website can be accessed using your email address and the password you selected, you agree not to share your password. Passwords are encrypted and cannot be determined by WeMakeItSafer employees. If you forget your password, you must request that the account be reset and you will be required to select a new password.
Your information resides on a secure server that only select personnel and contractors have access to. We encrypt certain sensitive information using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure that your personally identifiable information is safe as it is transmitted.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we employ commercially reasonable security measures to protect data, we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted to or from the Website. Furthermore, WeMakeItSafer is not responsible for the actions of any third party.

In the event that WeMakeItSafer, Inc., or a portion thereof, is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, WeMakeitSafer, Inc. reserves the right, to transfer or assign the information collected as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. This Policy may in whole or in part be transferred to the third party entity or may be terminated without prior notice.
