Top 5 Recalls by Incidents in March 2013

The top five recalls by incidents in March 2013 included two in the Sports Equipment category, two in the Home & Garden category and one in the Children’s category.

236 incidents of handles detaching from the weight pockets were reported in the Aqua Lung buoyancy compensators recall.

LED light bulbs were recalled after 68 incidents of product failure, which included eight reports of smoke and fire conditions as well as property damage.

The Pampered Chef garlic slicers were recalled following 23 reports of blades detaching and a report of a consumer cutting her finger.

Bugaboo Chamelon3 strollers were recalled after 16 reports of carry handles breaking.

Lastly, a  head injury hazard prompted the recall of kayaking and rafting helmets. 10 incidents of chinstrap failures were reported at the time of recall.
