Recall Summary: | VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH A MODEL 1546 LIQUID PROPANE GAS (LPG) TANK INSTALLED. THE TANK BRACKET CAN FAIL AND COULD SUBSEQUENTLY DETACH COMPLETELY FROM THE VEHICLE. |
Hazard: | THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE. |
Remedy: | DEALERS WILL INSTALL BOLT-ON BRACKETS. |
Additional Info: | OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING NOVEMBER 1999.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT NATIONAL RV AT 1-800-439-3653.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236). |
